An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Farm Manager to lead Bondeni Machame. You’ll set the pace for how the farm runs day to day. Working with your management team to deliver great flowers, safe operations and strong results, season after season.

Your role
As Farm Manager, you’re accountable for the farm’s operational, people and financial performance. You implement short- and long-term business plans, translate the Group strategy into clear targets for your Heads of Department, and continuously optimise productivity, quality and cost — strengthening Bondeni Machame as a high-performing unit within the wider Bondeni Flowers Limited portfolio.
What you will do
- Lead, coach and develop the management team and wider workforce in a labour-intensive operation.
- Deliver the crop plan: strong production, consistent quality and smooth planning from field to dispatch.
- Strengthen planning and coordination with commercial/market requirements to improve delivery reliability (on time, in full, error-free).
- Oversee on-farm product development: make sure variety and improvement trials run smoothly, with the right planning, resources and follow-up. Always in collaboration with the Product Development team and breeders.
- Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen mindset): productivity per m², trials, smarter processes and cost control.
- Strengthen sustainable growing practices, including disciplined irrigation/fertigation routines and integrated pest management (IPM).
- Manage the business side with grip: budgets, monthly reporting, asset care, stock control and operational compliance.
- Embed strong people practice: clear roles, performance reviews, training and a fair, consistent approach to labour relations and safety.
What you bring
- HBO/BSc in Horticulture, Agronomy, Agriculture (MBA is a plus)
- Significant experience in horticulture, including farm management (Africa experience is a strong advantage)
- A calm, clear leader who empowers, sets expectations and follows through
- Strong planning and analytical skills — you spot issues early and turn them into action
- Commercial awareness: comfortable working with targets, budgets and KPIs
- Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel)
- Languages: Dutch-speaking is strongly preferred; English is essential. Swahili is a plus — or you’re committed to learning
