Finance & Administration Manager
MARGINPAR: UNIQUE AND EXCLUSIVE
At Marginpar we believe in collaboration. Together with our colleagues and partners in Africa and our teams in Aalsmeer, we grow unique, exclusive cut flowers – flowers that tell a story and help florists all over the world make a difference.
Our range now includes almost 100 varieties, each with its own character. From 16 farms in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe we work on quality, innovation and connection. In Aalsmeer we do everything except the growing itself: sales, marketing, logistics, strategy, product development – and of course finance. Very soon there will be room for a new colleague: a manager for our Finance department who brings structure, keeps oversight and gains energy from complex financial and administrative processes.
Type: 32–40 hours per week
Location: Aalsmeer
Your role in the field
As Finance & Administration Manager you have end responsibility for the financial administration of Marginpar. You ensure that the figures are accurate – down to the very last stem – and that processes run smoothly and transparently.
Our flowers travel from our farms in Africa to customers all over the world. They are sold via the auction, directly to customers or ‘from source’. This calls for robust processes and a good understanding of both the figures and the journey our flowers make. To steer the flow of goods and invoices, we have developed specific software that communicates directly with the financial software. In this role you are responsible for organising and monitoring this process.
You lead a small, dedicated team and work closely with colleagues from different departments. You are the connecting factor who brings structure, translates data into insights and initiates improvements.
What you will do
- You have end responsibility for the financial administration and ensure that the figures are correct and the processes are optimally designed and running well.
- You safeguard internal control by flawlessly linking the figures from our farms, auctions and sales processes.
- You prepare monthly reports for our CFO and the Management Team, with a sharp eye for detail as well as the bigger picture.
- You prepare settlements and raise invoices, for example for partner farms and breeders, and determine stock levels.
- You ensure accurate HR and payroll administration, including processing in our HR system Humanwave.
- You monitor liquidity and prepare cashflow forecasts and annual budgets.
- You work together with colleagues within the Marginpar Group and ensure open, trusted communication between the international teams.
- You guide the annual audit, handle VAT returns and manage our tax obligations.
- You actively contribute ideas on process improvements and the use of BI tools to create insight into data, margins and cost prices.
- You are the point of contact for all financial matters for the Management Team and are able to advise effectively.
What you bring
- A Higher Professional Education (HBO) degree in Finance & Control or a comparable field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, for example as an assistant controller or in a similar role.
- Experience with ERP software, financial systems and a BI tool.
- You speak and write excellent Dutch and English.
- You live in The Netherlands.
- You have strong analytical skills, see connections and think in terms of solutions.
- You apply a coaching leadership style and are able to help your team grow.
- You communicate openly, give constructive feedback and are not afraid to take decisions.
- In addition to your solid education and (relevant) work experience, you are a finance professional who is open to further growth – both in your field and in understanding our business.
