Join us in Sheffield this summer

At Marginpar, we believe there is always something new to learn, whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out in floristry. That's why we're proud to be a main sponsor of the European Floristry School.

This unique three-day educational programme, organised by the British Florist Association (BFA), brings together three renowned floral designers, each leading a full-day workshop. Participants can explore a diverse range of techniques, creative approaches and design styles, making it a valuable opportunity to develop new skills, gain fresh inspiration and connect with industry peers.

Meet the designers

This year's programme features three renowned European floral designers, each bringing their own expertise and perspective.

In his workshop, Daniel SantamarĂa will guide participants through the creation of striking structural designs, exploring the balance between asymmetry, colour, texture and proportion. Through a hands-on approach, he invites participants to refine their craft and connect with their creative voice.

Stefan van Berlo will share his signature techniques, blending ideas suited to both wedding and funeral work. Participants will learn how to create their own structural statement pieces while gaining practical skills they can confidently apply in their own floristry practice.

Ffion Taverner is known for transforming botanicals into beautiful natural dyes for silk, cotton and wool. Her workshop offers an introduction to the art of botanical dyeing, revealing the colours and possibilities hidden within plants and flowers.

Time and location

The European Floristry School takes place from Monday, the 10th of August until Wednesday, the 12th of August 2026. This year's event will be hosted at The Victoria in Sheffield, a historic venue that provides the perfect setting for three days of creativity and learning.

For those looking to immerse themselves in the experience fully, a discounted three day pass is available. Individual workshop tickets can also be purchased.

An inspiring social evening

Great food, lovely company and plenty of inspiration. Doesn't that sound amazing?

On Tuesday the 11th of August, florists are invited to join a special social evening featuring an engaging talk by local visual artist Joe Horner, whose extraordinary flower-led imagery has gained international recognition. The social evening takes place from 6 pm to 10 pm. Tickets are sold separately, and you do not need to attend the workshops to join this event.

Why join the European Floristry School?

We visited the European Floristry School in 2024 and came away thoroughly impressed. The students praised not only the quality of the workshops and organisation, but also the opportunity to connect with fellow florists and build lasting friendships.

The workshops will feature a selection of summer flowers from the Marginpar assortment. The designers are currently making their final selections, and we can't wait to see what they have in store for the participants!
